SLEATER-KINNEY.
production manager | casting director
THE PROJECT
A rock band born of the ‘90s riot-grrrl punk scene, Sleater-Kinney is the love child of powerhouse singer/songwriters Carrie Brownstein and Corin Tucker.
With three weeks from project hand-off to wrap, our team turned a creative vision into an actualized music video starring A-list talent (J. Smith-Cameron of Succession).
THE PROCESS
With A-list talent traveling across the country for one day of filming, it was imperative that travel logistics were watertight and all contracts, communications, and permits were in accordance with the record label regulations.
Our client envisioned a robust group of extras to accompany our A-list talent. With a handle on the creative and a quick turnaround, I curated, reviewed and booked a cast of seventeen extras to tell our director’s story.
At 6:30 AM on shoot day, my 16-person production crew set up shop on the block of our main location where we would spend the next 12 hours turning a bold creative vision into a Rolling Stone-worthy music video.
THE RESULT
A black and white music video marrying raw emotion of the single with HBO-level brilliance and likeness of J. Cameron-Smith.
