THE PROJECT
DRAG-A-THON was a truly unforgettable professional experience that pushed my limits as a Producer and as a team player. There aren’t many jobs where one can walk away from set or production thinking “I was part of a team that broke a world record today.”
48 hours. 120+ talent. 3,600 attendees. 700 stage changes.

THE PROCESS
I was hired to lead the A/V team for DRAG-A-THON, a groundbreaking event held at Darcelle XV, a historic bar in Northwest Portland. Our mission was to orchestrate the world's longest drag show while meticulously adhering to stringent rules set by Guinness Book of World Records.
Managing continuous filming and data while ensuring uninterrupted operations became a monumental task. Our team, working in shifts, operated a sophisticated camera set up designed to prevent overheating. Throughout the event, we maintained a constant presence in the crows nest, overseeing the entirety of the show.
Logistics were intricate: maintain a steady stream of audience members, ensure minimal downtime between performances, and adhere to strict guidelines for MCs, dancers, and music intervals. Our cameras documented the 48-hour spectacle non-stop, with footage reviewed by Guinness officials to validate our record attempt.
Shifts spanned from noon to 8 PM, and 8 PM to 4 AM, to 4 AM to noon, over seven rotations, each team member contributing to seamless execution of this ambitious endeavor. Despite challenges we captured history in the making.
